Respect our People, Respect our Nation!!

I never thought I will be writing such a story, coz’ I never get influenced by movies to write a story, but yes real life has always inspired me to write. I have a colleague named Ashfaque Khan in my office, he is basically from Lucknow, his ancestors were Hindu, they were converted during the rule of Akbar Badshah, Ashfaque always favored the Hindus, he liked being among them ‘had lot of friends, one of course is me. He is really a fantastic guy.

He had is own dreams, one them he had shared with me, he wanted to go on a world tour with is parents and so he was saving all his money, but he did not have a passport, I suggested he get it made soon.
He filled an online form and went to the passport office for the formalities, but every day, he was told to come another day or was given any other excuse, that he is late or whatever, one day he decided , he will reach there before the office opens and wait…he did that he was the first one in the queue. The (passport) Verification Officer, during the verification was very rude, coz’ Ashfaque was a Muslim, however Ashfaque kept his calm, but the one question which the officer asked really made Ashfaque speak- “The question was “Are you or your family related to or connected to any terrorist ? “ Ashfaque had tears in his eyes, he said, “Sir, I’m not related to any terrorist, nor do I no one, but my Father has served the Indian Army for 15 years, and I’m proud of that, I’m a proud Indian, Like you are, I’m not a terrorist.”

The passport officer, just passed his file and sanctioned it without a word, people who were standing there saw Ashfaque with respect.

Friends’ this is a True Story, only the name is changed on request, I’m proud to be Ashfaque’s friend!
True Indians! Happy Independence Day to all of us!! Respect our People, Respect our Nation!!

Empower the “SHE”

Power India – Empower the “SHE”

Did You Know?
More than 300 million people in India live in absolute poverty-a number equal to all the people living in the US. The majority of these people are rural and female. Girls are a critically vulnerable group and a keystone of development in the country. More than half the girls in India marry before the age of 18. Younger, the bride the greater her chance – of being trapped in poverty and becoming malnourished, anemic and at risk for maternal mortality. More than 51% of women in India have no say in decisions about their own health. 65% of the school-aged children who are not enrolled in school are girls.

In some states of India women are still like the domesticated pets caged in the house. Females receive less health care than males. Many women die in childbirth of easily prevented complications. Working conditions and environmental pollution further impairs women’s health. In recent years, there has been an alarming rise in atrocities against women in India, in terms of rapes, assaults and dowry-related murders. Fear of violence suppresses the aspirations of all women. Female infanticide and sex-selective abortions are additional forms of violence that reflect the devaluing of females in Indian society. While women are guaranteed equality under the constitution, legal protection has little effect in the face of prevailing patriarchal traditions. Women lack power to decide who they will marry, and are often married off as children. Legal loopholes are used to deny women inheritance rights.

India has a long history of activism for women’s welfare and rights, which has increasingly focused on women’s economic rights. A range of government programs , social workers, activists have schemes and slogans for the security of women have been launched , although there appear to be no existing programs to address the cultural and traditional discrimination against women that leads to her abject conditions.
We should take the responsibility individually to enhance girls’ capability to demand and secure better services in such areas as health, education and family infrastructure. Increasing solidarity among women and girls forming a unified voice and support for the changes they seek to implement in their families and communities. Create awareness about key health, education and financial practices. Build confidence to influence family decisions and the community.

When this happens, then and only then powerful India will emerge.

Most Unwanted!

Forgotten Age – Most Unwanted!

Twinkle in the eye, but darkness in existence; the Indian girl child –

One day I was cleaning my desk, when my niece who is six years old came next to me and said “Masi , ‘m I unwanted , It seems that parents don’t like a girl child. My birth must be troubling everyone in the family.” I looked at her shocked. Honey! who the hell told you this? And she started crying? It was not important who told her, but the fact that still people live and believe this fact is a shame.

The Indian girl child is outlined by our country’s traditions. Discrimination of gender equality, female infants dumped in trash, unborn fetuses sniffed in the womb, all this continues in the society .There is no end to this cruel ritual practices . Our society has dealt the girl child a rough hand, starting even before birth, till the end of life.
The number of sexual abuse and domestic violence cases against women clearly throws light on the fact that girl child in India do not enjoy even basic rights; their health and education. They are deprived of their own lives. The cost of this neglect is high, both for the girl child and for society.

Let’s get aware and rather make an attempt to envision a society that is sensitive, aware and free from prejudice that affects the girl child.Grab any opportunity of decision-making for the advancement of the girl child.

I'm the first one to to take a step ahead...what about you?

The most Best Comment , which I cudn' miss to mention
Soham writes----

When I read what anu wrote, it was shocking! I started collecting thoughts, to pen down an article/blogpost to strengthen anu’s thought- or may be INDIAs thought! Mind ran faraway searching for similar instances, and I broke down ashamed of our societal morals and the way we neglect NATURE and its rule. Moment after that, I thought of cementing these cracks with a positive story, which I witnessed. I know a family (Name doesn’t matter), who had a girl child, later when they tried for a boy (now, this is weird), the lady was pregnant with twin babies…both girls (This happened several years back, when sex determination was not illegal). Lady and her husband took a little time to digest this! But, husband stood up accepting twin girls with a proud smile on his face. Entire family danced in joy to welcome TWIN STARS! Now, they are awesome family together! WHO DOESN’T WANT A GIRL CHILD NOW?

Thank you Soham :)

Dear Friends, Please feel free to share in your thought!

Knock…Knock…Postman :)

There were hardly any means of communication in the olden days , other than letters, Postman was one of the most important person to most of the families, they were treated as a part of the family…The postman used to read and write the letters for them, he used to know the in and out of each family and was very attached…Today, with so many developments and modern means of communication …the postman with a Khaki Uniform and cycle is lost somewhere …even when a postman passes by on his cycle, we don’t even bother to look at him…times have changed people seem to have forgotten the importance of a postman and post office, Today the Khaki Uniform guy does not knock, just deposits all letters in the letter box and moves on…

I had to go the post office yesterday, I’d the address but reaching there was a task, I was going round n round the same old building, however I couldn’t see a post office, finally a lady helped me, her directions were simple, I was shocked to see the post office, the ceilings were cracked, the walls were not painted, the wooden table n chairs were broken, the gate was rusted, the floor was muddy, it would have been not cleaned or dusted for years , the water tap was leaking, the people working there looked so frustrated…maybe cos’ of the surroundings….I honestly don’t know how much they are paid, But I would like to suggest the Govt. of India that they should think of renovating the post office, give new look to the postman and his cycle, when the govt. can sanction Royal Enfield to policemen, then the postman can at least get a fixed gear bicycle. And all this can be done only with the taxes that Sharukh khan and Sachin Tendulkar pay to the govt.:)

The post Office is the only place where many people can trust their savings and investments, Then Why isn’t it promoted. People should know more and more about the importance and security of this place, ‘m sure the great multinational banks will have a tough time if govt. thinks reforming this old medium of communication and savings

Knock…Knock (Govt. of India) we want the Post Masters and Post Office Back in Action.

Friends! What do you think about this, please comment if you have more suggestions or Ideas to share on this post / concept

Cadbury's new thought: 'Shubh Aarambh'

Cadbury's new thought “Shubh Aarambh” the campaign is based on the concept of the Indian tradition of having something sweet before every auspicious occasion, with the belief that it leads to a favorable outcome. What a superb commercial! Kudos’ to the concept!!

It is yet another cut on long-running, and immensely successful 'Kuch meetha ho jaaye' thought for Cadbury’s dairy milk. Every ad. Flick is phenomenal, some are entertaining, some are sentimental and touching, every piece connects you in real, the brand caters to every audience, every age, the brand simply means, there is no age bar to have a Cadbury Diary milk or any other Cadbury chocolate any day of your life, I always loved this brand, anyways I’m not writing a review on the Cadbury commercial, I truly wish this brand works wonders year after year …

Every one out of 3 people in India are Diabetic, and they too love this Ad. And specially for such people this is a mouth-watering commercial, they are the ones who can’t enjoy the taste of sweetness, I have a friend named Gautam, He loves chocolates’, but he is highly diabetic, I feel bad for him, November 14 was the World Diabetes Day, People from different states had various campaigns”Beat Diabetes”, where the motto was to stay fit and healthy, but what about people who are already attacked by the silent killer???? (Diabetes)

I always felt that the chocolate brands should think about such people, the brand should take a step forward to help such people by coming up with a diet chocolate which is healthy and sugar free, still melodious, creamy and delicious. I bet this will work wonders for every chocolate brand, what an idea if Cadbury India gives a thought and comes up with something that will touch millions of heart as each one can enjoy a sweet treat with their loved ones…

Hey Gautam, I hope the brand is listening to us…and we’ll soon be able to say “Kuch meeta ho jaye” :)
